1. General Warning

Home repair and maintenance work can cause electric shock, fire, gas leaks, flooding, structural damage, chemical exposure, falls, and serious injury. These risks can exist even when instructions appear straightforward and even when a guide is well written.

2. Unknown Property Conditions

StelaHome cannot inspect your home and does not know the hidden conditions behind walls, inside panels, under floors, inside plumbing lines, or within mechanical systems. A guide may not account for prior repairs, code violations, defective products, concealed damage, corrosion, or unsafe installations already present at your property.

3. Professional and Permit Work

Many repairs require a licensed professional, a permit, or both. Examples commonly include service-panel work, gas line work, structural changes, major roofing changes, HVAC refrigerant work, and hazard-remediation work such as asbestos or lead. You are responsible for determining what is lawful and safe in your jurisdiction before beginning any work.

4. Stop-Work Rule

Stop work immediately if power cannot be safely isolated, water or gas cannot be safely shut off, structural movement is suspected, hidden conditions differ from the guide, required tools or protective equipment are unavailable, or you are unsure whether continuing is safe or lawful.

5. Emergency Situations

If you encounter an emergency such as smoke, fire, sparking, arcing, gas odor, flooding, structural instability, or bodily injury, prioritize personal safety first. Contact emergency services or the appropriate licensed professional. Do not continue troubleshooting through the platform during an emergency.

6. No Safety Warranty

STELAHOME MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT ANY GUIDE, ESTIMATE, OR RECOMMENDATION IS SAFE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR HOME OR CONDITIONS. You assume all risk associated with attempting any task described on the platform.
